On Thursday April 24th renowned English concert pianist Richard Meyrick will give a Masterclass at 2pm. Four Coláiste Muire young pianists will be taking part. There will be a Recital at 7:30pm at Danlann an Chláir. Tickets are available at the door.

Award of Green Flag Ceremony

Coláiste Muire is being awarded a Green Flag at an official ceremony on Friday 8th May.Minister for the Environment, John Gormley,T.D.will be in attendance.
The school is the first post primary school in Ennis to be awarded Green School status.

Our annual Awards Night takes place on Wednesday 13th May at 8.00pm in Danlann an Chláir. All are welcome to attend!
A variety of awards ranging from academic and sporting to community spirit and "student of the year" will be presented.
Our school choir, orchestra and trad group will perform.

Young Social Innovators Showcase

Two of our projects,"Paws For Thought" and "Stomp Out Bullying, Take 2" have been selected to exhibit their projects in the RDS on May 6th.
The remaining project,"Mens Sana in Corpore Sano" will take part in the "Poster" and "Speak Out" sections.

Mock Trials 2010

Colaiste Muire is among twenty schools nationally selected to participate in the Mock Trials in the new Criminal Courts of Justice,Dublin on Saturday 15th May.
Mr. Justice Paul Carney, a Judge of the High Court and Mary White, T.D., Minister for Equality, Integration and Human Rights are the guest speakers at the opening ceremony.

Leaving Cert and LCA results 2010

Results will be delivered to schools on Wednesday, 18 August, 2010. Students in Coláiste Muire may collect results from 9.00am.
Students may also access their exam results via the Internet and telephone using a Personal Identification Number(PIN) and their exam number.
Both services will operate from 12 noon.

Mc Manus all Ireland scholarship at a ceremony in Limerick
on Saturday Nov 7. Poppy is studying History and Politics in
Trinity College.

Congratulations to Lynsey Connellan on achieving the above
award in recognition of the high number of credits awarded to

This is the week of the Musical. "Anything Goes" will be
performed for Colaiste students and visiting schools in the early
part of the week with night performances from Wednesday Dec 1
to Saturday Dec 3. A huge effort has gone into the Musical since
September and we wish all our fourth years every success in the
coming week.

Christmas Carol Services

Christmas Carol services take place on Wednesday 22 December.
Each class has collected a Christmas hamper.Christmas Holidays
begin on December 22 for 1st and 2nd years and on December
23 for the rest of the school. School reopens on January 10.

Past Pupils Careers Workshop

A workshop on different third level courses by Past Pupils will
take place for senior students from 9.30 to 12.00 on Thursday
December 23 in the school.The event is organised every two
years by Ms O'Regan and gives senior pupils a chance to talk to
3rd level students about their experience of various courses
covering a huge range of areas.

Danlann at 7.30 in aid of CanTeen Ireland. CanTeen is a teenage
cancer support group.

Colaiste 150 years celebrations took place over the weekend with Colaiste school choir and orchestra performing Vivaldi's Gloria on Saturday night.
The performance was superb.Carmel Griffin and the school choir and orchestra deserve great credit.
The open day on Sunday gave past pupils access to school archives dating back to the 1920's. Thanks to Helen Sheil for her research and to Niamh Hickey for her work on the display.

This year's Musical "Beauty and the Beast" is performed by 4th year and TY students nightly in the Danlann from Wednesday November 30 to Saturday December 3. The show is lively and entertaining. in the All Ireland schools badminton finals in Gormanston, Co.
Meath. The team played very well and were runners up in the

French, German and Irish which begin after the Easter Holidays
while junior Cert Irish oral exams take place March 9 to March 13.
Music practicals take place also April 13 to April 17. We wish all our

A Parent teacher meeting for first year parents will take place on
March 18 from 4.15 to 6.45pm.

Preparations are underway for the Graduation mass. Fifth year
students will celebrate the end of their schooldays with their
parents guardians and teachers in the Danlann on Thursday May

Deadlines for project work for the state exams whoosh by as non
exam classes prepare for Summer exams and the happier prospect
of school tours for first and second year classes.
Interviews are being held for places in Transition year and in
Leaving Cert Applied 1 as those going into fourth year choose their
option subjects.

First and second year students went on their school tours on
Thursday May 28. First year students were in Tayto Park in
Ashbourne Co Meath and Second year students were in a Water
Activity Centre in Athlone. A good time was had by all and students
now have a long Summer holiday to look forward to!

Junior Cert Leaving Cert Applied and Leaving Cert exams begin on
Wednesday June 3. We wish all our students every success!

A new year group of First Year students begin their Coláiste school
days on August 31. They will meet with their year head and class
director in the morning and have an afternoon of activities. We
welcome them to Coláiste!

Congratulations to our Leaving Cert and Leaving Cert Applied
students on their outstanding results. We wish all of our students
well in their chosen path and will miss them over the coming school

Mission week takes place in October from Monday 19 to
Friday 23. Lunchtime concerts, copper races, wacky sock day
are among the events which will organised to raise funds for
the Sisters of Mercy mission in Ngutani Kenya.

Les Misérables

Rehearsals have begun for this year's Musical Les Misérables.
Fourth year and Transition year students will take part in the
show. The musical director is Mr Michael Hennessy and the
producer is a past pupil of the school Sarah Griffin.
