15 & 16 Sept (TY1 & 2),2 & 3 Oct (TY3 & 4) Law Education for Schools
All students were given a unique insight into law as seen through the eyes of a practising barrister. Law Education for Schools places emphasis on teaching the student the skill of
advocacy.Both groups staged a mock trial in Ennis Court House.
23 Sept 2014 National Ploughing Championships
All TY students attended the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, Co. Laois which showcased Irish Food, Farming and Culture.
30 Sept 2014 Bord Bia
Bord Bia hosted a workshop for all TY students. This involved an information sesion on Nutrition, the Irish Food Industry and Speciality Foods.The cookery demonstration comprised 3 dishes(lamb, beef ,eggs) all quality assured.

TY students attended this Open Day.They had the opportunity to attend introductory lectures, visit exhibition stands and tour the campus.

7 - 10 Oct 2014 Horizon AdventureCentre, Kilavalley, Westport, Co. Westport
Students took part in a multi-activity programme including surfing, kayaking,climbing Croagh Patrick, zipwire,Jacobs ladder, high ropes, archery and various team building tasks.
13 - 17 Oct 2014 Cheerios Childline Brealkfast Together Week
Our TY class organised this fun charity breakfast event for all Junior classes. All monies raised support the ISPCC Childline sevices.
17 Oct 2014 Be Part of It Expo
All TY students attended Expo in Glor hosted by Clare Volunteer Centre who are aiming to actively support volunteering among students for 2014/15.
Oct 2014 School Bank
A school bank is now being run by TY1 students on behalf of the Bank of Ireland who interviewed applicants for positions and who provided training. The Bank opened in school on Thursday 16 October.

10 TY students represented the school at this local showcasing event held in the Oakwood Arms. The main aim of the event is to give young people the opportunity to discuss and debate matters of relevance to them in their community.

Lyric FM Education and Outreach programme involves making classical music based radio programmes. A mobile radio studio is brought to the school and the fundamental aspects of radio programme making are discussed.The programme was facilitated by Lorcan Murray and Eddie Lenihan.

Date to be confirmed Pathology Department Open Day - Limerick Regional Hospital
This event takes place in conjunction with the "Labs are Vital" initiative organised through the Academy of Medical Laboratory Science in partnership with Abbott Diagnostics, and as part of National Pathology Week, Ireland.
Students are shown around the various Laboratory disciplines, namely Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, Haematology, Histology and Microbiology, and get an insight into the function and role of these areas.
Students (in groups of three) have started driving lessons with Tim Kelly School of Motoring.

TY students, together with all 4th years will take part in our annual musical. This year's show is Joseph.

The purpose of this placement is to give students an insight into the service providers in the voluntary and community
19,20, 21 & 22 Jan 2015 Cardiac First Responders Course
The purpose of this course is to enable students to assess a collapsed casualty, perform CPR on an adult, child and infant, how to recognise the signs of choking and how to recognise the signs of a heart attack and stroke and to be able to provide treatment.

Clare Museum offer this Geography programme to secondary schools. Students will get a chance to examine artefacts up close and learn the scientific techniques used by Archaeologists for dating finds, testing soil and extracting artefacts from the ground through fun hands on experiments.

This workshop offers students a first hand insight into life as a professional songwriter / musician and an overview of song writing and the music business. Students write, perform and record their own songs during a two day workshop. Students will receive a CD with their song(s), along with a“Songschool Certificate of Participation".

As part of Geography, students will undertake a study of Coastal Erosion. The emphasis is on students doing practical work themselves, using equipment and collecting
data. The data collected is analysed to ensure fullunderstanding under the guidance of Colin Bunce from the Burren
14 May 2015 Visit to Criminal Courts of Justice, Kilmnainham Gaol and The Irish Aid Centre
TY classes will visit the Criminal Courts of Justice.This visit is organised by the Courts Service. A Barrister will stage a Mock Trial for the class. Students will have the opportunity to attend various court cases in the complex.
In the afternoon TY students will have a guided tour of Kilmainham Gaol and spend some time in the museum. The tour of Kilmainham is facilitated by Heritage Ireland.TY will also have the opportunity to visit the Irish Aid Centre on this date.

The purpose of this night is to celebrate students' efforts and achievements.There is a display of students work completed throughout the year. A number of students speak on their experience of TY.This is followed by a presentation of various certificates of
participation and achievement.
